SESSION 12: GRADUATION PARTY

QUIZ

THE T1L1 GRADUATION CEREMONY

The T1L1 graduation ceremony is an opportunity for mentors, administrators, parents, family, friends and community leaders to celebrate and congratulate the students for all their hard work during the T1L1 Program.

In order for a student to be eligible for graduation, he/she can miss no more than 20% of the T1L1 sessions (roughly 3 sessions).

 TIPS FOR EFFECTIVENESS

Follow these tips to ensure the T1L1 Graduation Ceremony runs smoothly:

  • Plan Early: It’s always best to begin planning the graduation event far in advance. Order all needed items 2 to 3 weeks prior to the Graduation Ceremony.
  • Communicate: Communicate with the T1L1 offices.
  • Take Pictures: You and your students will want to remember these events. If possible, recruit a special volunteer to act as a photographer; this will free up you and your team to interact with the students.

STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE TWO DIFFERENT ITEMS AT THE GRADUATION CEREMONY

Service Project Letter: This letter will confirm the student’s participation in the T1L1 In-Service Learning Project.

Graduation Certificate: This certificate shows that the student is an official graduate of the T1L1 Program.

ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENTS TO INVITE ANYONE TO THEIR GRADUATION CEREMONY: FRIENDS, FAMILY, COMMUNITY LEADERS, OR ANYONE ELSE THEY CAN THINK OF. THIS CEREMONY SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT THE STUDENTS ARE PROUD OF.
